We were understandably curious about the seller at Sothebys’ London next month of the 3 catalogue sale “Bear Witness.” Some exploring gave us some insight as the consignor is Guido Orsi (orso is bear in Italian!).
Artist Dean Levin has sued his former dealer Robert Blumenthal over alleged non payment of approximately $200,000 from his show last spring. We hear that Mr Blumenthal may be able to satisfy his debt soon if in fact he was the seller of the Jonas Wood painting for approx $500,000 last week in London.
